Obituary
Sherman Rice Jr., 92, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, at Paul B. Hall Medical Center, Paintsville. Born May 26, 1910, in Johnson County, a son of the late Sherman Sr. and Emma Price Rice, he was a coal operator. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Caudill Rice. Survivors include a sister, Ruth Lamelle Meek of Paintsville. Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Charles Milam and Donnie Patrick today, Friday, June 28, at 1 p.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville. Burial will be in Rice Family Cemetery, Riceville.
