Obituary
Mrs. Sarah C. Rice, 85, died at her home at Denver at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, April 9, after an illness of three months. The daughter of the late William and Lettie Rice Blair, she was born in this county October 13, 1875, and had resided at Denver most of her life. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, George W. Rice, preceded her in death on June 19, 1943. A son, Sterling Rice, also preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Alger Rice, Leander; Archie and Norman Rice, Denver. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, from the Liberty Baptist Church at Denver with Revs. M. R. Thomason and J. L. Denington as officiating ministers. Burial was in the Rice family cemetery at Denver.
