Obituary
Funeral services were held Monday, November 25 for Mrs. Alma McCarty, 71, who died Friday, November 22 in a local hospital after a brief illness. Reverend Vern Conley and Reverend Norman Roberts. officiated at the service in the Liberty Baptist Church at Denver. Interment followed in the family cemetery at Denver under the direction of the Jones and Preston Funeral Home. Born in Johnson County on November 25, 1896, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Cynthia Blair Arms, and was a resident of Denver at the time of her death. Survivors include the husband, Proctor McCarty; four sons, John Walter, Robert, Elijah B. and Richard Elwood McCarty; all of Wabash, IN, two daughters, Roberta Ratliff of Swamp Branch and Joy Christine Rice of Dayton, OH, 22 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include six brothers and sisters, Oliver Arms of Urbana, OH, Oscar Arms, Lydia Spradlin, Mary Spradlin, and Rurie Spradlin, all of Denver and Martha Arms of Swamp Branch
