Obituary
Ladine Sturgill, age 87, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Born January 15, 1932 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late James Orville Sturgill and Minnie Goble Sturgill. In addition to her parents, Ladine is preceded in death by one brother, James Lee Sturgill; and one sister, Mary R. Caudill. She is survived by one son, Paul David Sturgill of West Van Lear, Kentucky; three sisters: Jessie Castle of Paintsville, Kentucky, Melva Chambers of Rhode Island and Elizabeth Huth of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday October 11, 2019 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Caudill Family Cemetery at Denver, Kentucky. Friends may visit the Phelps & Son Funeral Home from 11:00am to 1:00 pm Friday prior to the service. Chris Caudill will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
