Obituary
Manuel Spears, 72, died Sunday night, June 22, in a Lexington hospital following an illness of several months. Born at East Point, KY., February 20, 1880, he was the son of Henry and Martha Moles Spears. He had resided at Riceville for the past 40 years. He is survived by four brothers, Marion and Jerry Spears, both of Riceville, John Spears, Freeburn, KY., and Will Spears, Carey, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs. Mintie Caudill, Carey, Ohio and Mrs. Sarah Rice, Estill, KY. Funeral services were held at the home of his brother, Jerry Spears, at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, morning with the Revs. Scott Castle and Jim Yates officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Riceville under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
