Obituary
Dewey Hackworth, 88, died Monday, November 21 at Riverview Nursing Home of Prestonsburg. MR. Hackworth was born January 18, 1906 in Johnson County, the son of the late John Elliott and Laura Wright Hackworth. He was a retired carpenter and member of Ashland Local No. 472. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Mae Dotson Hackworth on February 12, 1990. Surviving are three sons, John, Roger, and Ronnie, all of Riceville; six daughters, Bonnie Williams of Newport News, VA, Betty Caudill of Plymouth, OH, Avonell Fitzgerald of Dayton, OH, Laura Salyers of Columbus, OH, Christiene Caudill of Carey, OH and Gwendolyn Webb of Hurricane, WV; two brothers, Norman and John Hackworth, both of Catlettsburg; one sister, Rushie Click of Swamp Branch, and 26 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Novem23, at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church at Riceville, with David Keith Castle and Herb Arms officiating. Burial will be in Caudill Family Cemetery at Swamp Branch, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
