Obituary
At the age of 91, Emma Johnson Castle, passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Sunday, July 6. The daughter of the late George and Lyelia Fairchild Johnson, she was born in Johnson County, December 10, 1883. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. W. R. Castle. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lyle Phelps of Lexington, a sister, Mrs. W. H. Young of Pamana, CA; and a brother, Alfred Johnson of Paintsville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 9 at the chapel of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home. Pallbearers at the funeral were K. B. Williams, William Martin, John L. Spears, Verne Horne, Bruce Wiley, James Roberts, Bill Meade and Escomb Chandler. The officiating minister was O. I. Williams. Burial was at the Fairchild Cemetery at Denver under the arrangement and direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
