SFC Clovis Baker, USAR, 71, of Columbia, KY, died Saturday, June 14, 20008 at 1:05 A.M. at Westlake Regional Hospital after an illness.

He was born July 8, 1936 in Adair Co., Ky to the late Sam and Zora Coomer Baker. Clovis was a decorated 20 year Veteran serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was of the Methodist faith and a KY colonel.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Robert Emsley Baker and Opal Denny.

He is survivied by his wife of 46 years, Lucille Sneed Baker of Columbia; one son, Terry (Melissa) Baker of Glasgow, two daughters, Geraldine (Arnold Ray) Fletcher of Russell Springs, Judy Baker of Frankfort; three grandchildren Sarah Fletcher, Jared and Ally Thompson; one brother Sammy (Nadine) Baker of Cundiff: one sister, Lucille Taylor of Louisville; two brothers-in-law - Chester and James L Sneed both of Columbia; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be today, Tuesday, June 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Cleveland Johnson officiating.

Burial in Antioch Cemetery with military honors presented by VFW Post 6097.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Casketbearers: Gerald Sneed, Arnold Fletcher, William Burton, Bill Nogar, David Martin, Tim Baker, Brent Baker, Randall Sneed, Jared Thompson, and Jerry Allen Gilpin.

Honoray casketbearers: Dr. Phil Aaron, A. L. Sinclair, Bruce Hadley, Stanley Barr, Buddy Staton, Chester Sneed, and James L. Sneed.
