MASS GRAVE

Defeated Camp Burial Ground Cemetery
Laurel County,
Kentucky

Defeated Camp Burial Ground is a mass grave of Settlers from Virginia on a trip to Kentucky who were massacred by Indians on October 3, 1786. I have read several reports and the number killed was between 21 and 24. They were three families. The McNitt's, the Barnes and Ford families. There were three survivors.
