Mrs. Flora Blair, 82, a lifelong resident of Barnetts Creek, succumbed Thursday, March 20 at her home after an extended illness. A member of the Beechwall United Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Eli and Elizabeth Ward Ratliff. Mrs. Blair was born in August 1883 at Barnetts Creek. Her husband, Albert Blair, to whom she was married in 1910 died in 1939. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Blair of Paintsville, Cecil and Raymond Blair of Cleveland, OH, and two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Blair of Berea, OH and Mrs. Lizzie Young of Barnetts Creek. Surviving brothers and sisters include Ellis Ratliff of Denver, Junior Ratliff of Barnetts Creek, Callie Daniels of Barnetts Creek, Callie Setser of Paintsville, Verlis Ratliff of Mansfield, OH, and Emma Selvage of Ashalnd. Nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. James Harrison Blair, T. H. May and Charles Selvage officiated at services on Sunday, March 23, at the Beechwall United Baptist church. Burial followed in the Albert Blair cemetery at Barnetts Creek. The Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, March 26, 1969
