Obituary
Mrs. Dora Weddington, 77, formerly of Johnson County, died at her home in New Carlisle, Ohio, early Friday morning after an illness of several months. She was born in Johnson County in 1879, the daughter of William and Lydia Blair, but had made her home in Ohio for the past two years. Her husband, Lee Weddington, preceded her in death in 1944. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are three son, Virgin Weddington, Springfield, Ohio; Willie Weddington, New Carlisle, Ohio, and Herschel Weddington, Denver, KY; six daughters, Mrs. Fannie Hitchcock, Miami, Fl, Mrs. Florence Blanton, Denver, KY; Mrs. Victoria Wilhelm, Tip City, Ohio; Mrs. Lucille Williams, Marion, Ohio, Norma Blair and Mrs. Gladys Scott, both of New Carlisle, Ohio; two brothers, Claude Blair, Mossy Bottom, KY, and Curtis Blair, Ashland, KY., and one sister, Mrs. Sarah Rice, Denver, KY. Services were held Sunday afternoon at the Liberty Baptist Church at Denver, KY., with Sam Slone officiating and music furnished by Tom’s Creek Quartet. Burial rites were conducted at the family cemetery at Denver under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Wednesday 12-19-1956
