Obituary
Virgie O’Bryan, 90, died Thursday, June 15, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington, WV. Mrs. O’Bryan was born September 28, 1898 in Johnson County, the daughter of Ballard and Minnie Spradlin May. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, elder Millard O'Bryan in December 1977 Surviving are 2 sons, Ervin O'Bryan of Leander and James M. O'Bryan of Grove City, OH; 2 daughters, Hattie Blanton of Lucasville, OH and Myrle Preston of Huntington; 2 stepdaughters, Golda Blair of Huntington and Dixie Osborne of Columbus, OH; 4 brothers, Hammie May and German May both of Leander, Hargus May of Jackson, MI, and Arnold May of Paintsville; 4 sisters, Dora Blair of Portage, MI, Olka Nichols of Marion, OH, Omega Hood of Charlotte, NC. and Ruby O'Keefe of Indianapolis, IN. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 6, at the Trostel-Chapman Funeral Home in New Carlisle, with Rev. Myron Williams officiating. Burial was in O'Bryan Cemetery at Leander. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, June 21, 1989
