Obituary
Myrtle Rice Fidler, 83, died Monday, December 29, in Riverview Manor Nursing Home, Prestonsburg. Mrs. Fidler was born Nove1, 1897 in Johnson County, the daughter of Sherman and Emma Price Rice. She was a resident of Swamp Branch, a retired school teacher and a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, Sherwood Fidler, preceded her in death. Surviving are a brother, Sherman Rice, Jr.; 5 sisters, Prudence Rice of Louisa, Lucy Wilkins of Mt. Hope, WV, Evelyn Barker and Gladys Bailey of Lexington and Ruth Meek of Paintsville. Funeral services were held Thursday, January 1 in the First Baptist Church, Paintsville, with Dr. Charles Milam officiating. Burial was in family cemetery at Swamp Branch with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
