Obituary
Edna Bayes, 78, died Tuesday, April 19, at UK Medical Center, Lexington. Mrs. Bayes was born August 18, 1909 in Johnson County, the daughter of W. L. "Bill" and Sarah Baldridge Collins. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Her husband, Sam J. Bayes, died in December 1980. Surviving are three sons, Sherman of Oil Springs, and Charles and Carl both of Forest, OH; one daughter Thelma Lester of Denver; and five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, April 22, in Long Fork United Baptist Church at Riceville, with Elders B. C. Ferguson and Press Hughes officiating. Burial was in Lester Cemetery at Denver with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
