Obituary
Burnette H. Blanton, 50, died Monday, October 9, in Lakeland, FL. Born in Johnson County, September 29, 1928, he was the son of the late Albert Blanton and Florence Weddington Blanton. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Athlene Oney Blanton, two sons, William A. and Thomas M. of Lakeland, FL, three brothers, Herbert K. West Liberty, James W., New Carlisle, OH, and Eddie, Denver, and two sisters, Janet McCarty, Jeffersonville, OH, and Blanche Pelphrey, Staffordsville. Funeral services were held Friday, October 13, in the First Baptist Church in Paintsville with Michael Heacock officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Denver with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
