Obituary
Mrs. Elsie Hitchcock, 63, wife of Jessie Hitchcock, of Denver, died suddenly at her home at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, following an unexpected heart attack. The daughter of Albert and Laura Spradlin Colvin, she was born in this county April 8, 1897, and had resided at Denver most of her life. Survivors include besides her husband, three sons, Lawrence Hitchcock, Columbus, Ohio; Jesse Hitchcock, Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; Cecil Hitchcock, Barnetts Creek; three daughters, Myrle May, Leander; Pauline Caudill, Denver; Lova Ann Dotson, Whitaker; three borthers, Maurice Colvin, Denver; Claude Colvin, Staffordsville; Estil Colvin, Paintsville, four sisters, Clara Kesenger, Whitaker; Beulah Arms, Leander; Shellie Blair, Chillicothe, Ohio; Stella Byser, Cincinnati, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday from the Missionary Baptist Church at Denver with Claude Preston as officiating minister. Burial was in the family cemetery at Denver.
