A. N.'s Obituary:
"A.N." Akins [Arvin Norman Akins], son of the late Sam Akin and Mary Walker Akin, was born March 4, 1890 in Green County and departed this life at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, 1979 at St. Anthony Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was 90 years, 4 months and 6 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church at the time of his death. He united in marriage on December 21, 1911 to Rose Ella Sharp who preceded him in death on January 4, 1975. To this union were born two sons and two daughters: Finis Akin, Campbellsville, Kentucky, and Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky. Mary Magdalene and Cecil Akin, both preceded their father in death. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The remains were at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home where funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 1979 with burial in the Hogard's Chapel Cemetery. Rev. Gilbert Larimore officiated. Pallbearers were: Ewel Johnson, Willis Judd, Tommy Adkin, Earl Young Henderson, Jack Arvin Henderson, and Ronnie Akin.

Rosa's Obituary:
Mrs. Rosa Akin, 81, daughter of the late Mr. Tom Sharp and Mrs. Mary Richardson Sharp, was born November 25, 1893, in Green County and departed this life at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 1975 at the Jane Todd Crawford Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Hogard's Chapel Methodist Church at the time of her death. She united in marriage to Mr. A. N. Akin, December 21, 1911, who survives. To this union were born two sons and two daughters. Surviving are: Finis Akin, Campbellsville, Route 4, Mrs. Ruth Johnson, Louisville, Cecil Akin preceded his mother in death in May 1950, and a daughter, Mary Magdalene Akin died in infancy. Mrs. Akin is also survived by one brother: Tom Sharp, Campbellsville; four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, by Rev. Gilbert Larimore and Rev. Phil Porter. Burial was in the Hogard's Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers: William Earl Henderson, Bill Sharp, Raymond Sharp, Mickey Akin, Willis Judd, and Ham Johnson. Honorary pallbearers: James Akin, B.L. Akin, Billy Martin, Bill Lobb, Everett Berry, and Dr. George Bierly.
