Obituary
Myrtie Blair, 80, died Friday, February 29, at her Leander home after an extended illness. Born November 25, 1899, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of David and Minnie Spradlin May. She was a resident of Leander and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Her husband, Elliot Blair, preceded her in death. Surviving are a son, Leroy Blair of El Paso, TX; 6 brothers, Hammie and German May of Leander, Theodore May of Wheelersburg, OH; Hargis May of Jackson, MI, Patrick May of Louisa and Arnold May of Paintsville; 6 sisters, Virgie O'Bryan of Huntington, WV, Dora Blair of Staffordsville, Alka Nichols of Marion, OH, Omega Crumit of Charlotte, NC, Malta Blair of Denver and Ruby O'Keef of Indiana; 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Castle and Rev. G. K. Nichols officiating. Burial was in May family cemetery at Leander. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, March 5, 1980
