Obituary
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 25, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Almeda May Blair, 90, of Denver, who passed away Saturday, March 22, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home in Paintsville. Mrs. Blair was born Jan. 12, 1924 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Thomas Hamilton and Ruie Prudence Williams May. She was a retired cook with the Johnson County school system. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Harrison Blair; two brothers, Henry and Bureda May. Surviving are one son, Jim (Lori) Blair of Maineville, Ohio; three daughters, Marilyn Sue (Ken) Collett and Anna Prudence Cochran, both of Denver, and Velma (Wade) May of Leander; two brothers, Gene (Fern) May of Denver and Hager May of Urbana, Ohio; five sisters, Barbara Ratliff of Carey, Ohio, Martha (Raymond) Blair of Denver, Peggy Baldwin of Urbana, Ohio, Rosa Belle Blevins of Paintsville, and Carolyn Blair of Oil Springs; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The service was officiated by Danny Williams, Frankie Williams and Sammie Reed, with burial in the James Harrison Blair Cemetery at Denver. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.
