Obituary
Elder Monroe Caudill, 81, died Thursday, July 9 in the home of his son, Paul Caudill of Denver. Mr. Caudill was born February 4, 1900, in Johnson County, the son of Camel and Emily Blair Caudill. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Baptist Church. His wife, Alka Blair Caudill preceded him in death Nov. 1, 1971. Surviving are 3 sons, Raleigh and Paul Caudill of Denver, and Rudolph Caudill of Leander; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Davis of Meally; 2 sisters, Mrs. Josie Hitchcock of Denver and Mrs. Gertrude Litteral of Oil Springs; 12 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 11 in Caudill Fork United Baptist Church at Oil Springs with Elders James H. Blair, Lonza Reed, John R. Pelphrey, and Rutherford Blair officiating. Burial was in Caudill Cemetery at Denver with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
