Obituary
Wayne Hitchcock, 68, died Monday, March 21, in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hitchcock was born June 17, 1919 in Johnson County, the son of Bennie and Josephine Caudill Hitchcock. He was a retired miner. Surviving are his wife, Avanell Blair Hitchcock; three sons, Wayne Franklin, Willard Harrison and Timothy Wayne, all of Denver; two daughters, Virginia Ratliff of Staffordsville, and Carol Blair of Denver; two sisters, Lucille May of Van Lear, and Zetta Caudill of Denver; and five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church with John Frank Ratliff, Doug Crider and Dick VanHoose officiating. Burial will be in the family cemetery at Denver, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, March 23, 1988
