Obituary
Avonell Blair Hitchcock, 86, of Denver, died Thursday, April 1, at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, Paintsville. Born Oct. 12, 1923, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late Dewey and Mary Blair. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Hitchcock; and two grandsons. Survivors include two sons, Wayne F. Hitchcock and Willard Hitchcock, both of Denver; two daughters, Virginia Ratliff and Carol Blair, both of Paintsville, a sister, Eula Faye Gullett of Paintsville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Sunday, April 4, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Jerry Colvin, and Rutherford Blair officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Memorial Cemetery, Staffordsville, under direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville. Big Sandy News Apr. 2010
