Obituary
Sarah Jane Arms, 71, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home in Denver on Friday, July 4. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 7 in the Liberty Baptist church at Denver with the Reverends John Sammons and Scott Castle officiating. Interment followed in the family cemetery at Denver under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Born in Johnson County on April 13, 1898, she was the daughter of the late General and Mary Ann Hitchcock. Surviving is her husband, Oscar Arms, whom she married in 1914; four daughters, Ora Lee Blair, Venice Arms, and Valeria Brewer all of Denver and Viola Blair of Paintsville, seven brothers and sisters, Grant Hitchcock of Van Lear, Jesse Hitchcock of Staffordsville, Bennie and Eddie Hitchcock, Dicie Baldwin and Alta Baldwin all of Denver, and Bessie Blair of Leander; sixteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
