Nora Fairchild, 80, died Friday, March 23, at her Leander residence after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Fairchild was born September 16, 1898, at Barnetts Creek, daughter of Leander and Clarenda Rice Blair. She was a member of the United Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Paris H. Fairchild, March 22, 1963. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mayme Blair and Elaine Brown of Leander; a brother, Verlie Blair of Mont Coal, VA; 8 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25, in Beechwall United Baptist Church, Leander, with Elders Jimmy Cloud, Willie Bowling, James H. Blair and Mitchell Baldwin officiating. Burial was in family cemetery at Leander. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, March 28, 1979
