MRS. B. BROWN, MOTHER OF FOUR, DIES THURSDAY of Gunshot Wound Fatal To Woman In Mystery Death Mystery shrouds the death of Mrs. Boone Brown, 25, who died Thursday afternoon in a local hospital of complications resulting from a gunshot wound she received at her home in the "Blackberry" section of this city between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on July 21. The woman, mother of four small children, was said to have fired a .45 Army Colt into her body while standing on the porch of her home. It was testified by Mrs. Brown and other witnesses that the would was self inflicted. County Attorney R. B. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Solon and Mary Jane O'Bryan Prater. She was born at Leander and had been a resident of Paintsville for about five years. On November 16, 1946 she was married to Boone Brown. Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by four small children. Patsy Illene, Judy Carol, Danny Joe and Johnny Mack. also surviving are the following brothers and sisters, Basil Prater, Lucasville, Ohio, Bert Prater, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Callie Blair, Paintsville, and five half-brothers and sisters, Ralph Hitchcock, Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Fanny Bradley, Wabash, Ind., Mrs. Ethel Ward, Le- ander, Mrs. Josephine Spradlin, Paintsville, and Mrs. Allie Miller, Amsden, Ohio.
