Obituary
Herbert May of Leander Died January 9 Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, from the home at Leander for Herbert May, 52, who died in a local hospital Tuesday evening, January 9, after a brief illness. The son of Thomas and Susan Holbrook May, he was born in Johnson County April 28, 1908, and had lived at Leander most of his life. He was a member of the United Baptist Church and was employed as a miner and mechanic. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Chloa Bryant May, two sisters, Mrs. Noah Spradlin, Denver, Mrs. Estill Blair, Vanlue, Ohio; one brother, Powell May, Christiansburg, Ohio; two half brothers, George Rivers, Jr., Collista, Herschel Rivers, Leander. Millard Bryant and James Blair were the officiating ministers. Burial was in the family cemetery. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday January 17, 1962
