Obituary
Leander (Lee) Ratliff, 54, died August 28 at his Denver home. Mr. Ratliff was born April 18, 1930 in Johnson County, the son of Topsy and Leona Fairchild Ratliff. He was a retired miner and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Ella Mae VanHoose Ratliff; 3 sons, Edward, Charley, and Billy Ratliff all of Denver; 6 daughters, Mae Horn, Brenda Spears, Linda Blair, Wanda Ratliff, Glenna Pennington and Leona Hannah all of Denver; 4 brothers, Jay C. Ratliff of In, Obie Ratliff of Denver, Ovie Ratliff of Urbana, OH, and Frank Ratliff of Fl; 4 sisters, Ella Ratliff, Dixie Blair and Dicie VanHoose all of Denver and Kathie Thatcher of Urbana, OH; several half brother and sisters; 16 grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 31 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Melvin Blanton and Clarence Lemaster officiating. Burial was in Ratliff Cemetery at Denver
