Obituary
Topsy Ray Ratliff, 49, died Sunday, October 17, 1999, at Mountain Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Ratliff was born February 10, 1950, in Johnson County, to the late Topsy Ratliff Sr. and Ruby VanHoose Ratliff Sadler. Surviving are one son, Timothy Ray Ratliff of Sitka; three brothers, Hollie of Flat Gap, Lawrence of Tutor Key and Andy of Blaine; two half brothers, Jay of New York and Bub of Urbana, Ohio; four sisters, Ollie Southern, Martha Kidd and Ruth Ann Fitch, all of Denver, and Mary Pennington of Van Lear; and three half sisters, Dicie VanHoose of Denver, Elda Faye Ratliff of Middle Fork and Hattie Marie Thatcher of Urbana. Funeral services will be held, today, Wednesday, October 20, at 1 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Denver, with Terry Conley, Harold Conley and Ted Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Topsy Ratliff Cemetery at Denver, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
