Julia Salyer Ratliff, 60, died Monday, November 13, 2000, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Ohio. Mrs. Ratliff was born August 23, 1940, in Johnson County, to the late Harvey and Vertrice Salyer Salyer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ratliff, on March 26, 1990; and a grandson, Steve Hoy. Surviving are two sons, Scott Ratliff of Urbana, Ohio, and Don Ratliff of Cable, Ohio; two daughters, Diana Dawson of Springfield and Robin Ruby of Deltona, Florida; one stepdaughter, Emily Lemaster of Flat Gap; four brothers, Berlin Salyer and Shafter Salyer, both of Staffordsville, and Harvey and Prentice Salyer, both of Bellefontaine, Ohio; one sister, Loretta Poe of Oil Springs; and five grandchildren and one great-grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 16, at 11 a.m. at Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel, with Benny Salyer and Elders Charles Poe, Jimmy Salyer and Freddy Salyer officiating. Burial followed in Topsy Ratliff Cemetery at Denver.
