Obituary
Manford Spradlin, 73, was pronounced dead on arrival at a Huntington, WV hospital Monday May 12. Mr. Spradlin had been in ill health for some time. A veteran of World War I, he was born in Johnson County on May 9, 1896 the son of the late Ruben and Nan Lewis Spradlin. He was a resident of West Van Lear at the time of his death. Survivors include two sons, William R. and Frank James Spradlin of West Van Lear; two daughters, Mrs. Green Mabry of Detroit, MI and Mrs. Virgil Goble of West Van Lear; 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Additional survivors include three brothers, George Spradlin of Ohio, Frank Spradlin of Ashland and Elzie Spradlin of Thealka. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 15 at the Jones and Preston Fuernal Home with Reverend Ellis Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Spradlin Cemetery at Denver. The Jones and Preston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, May 14, 1969
