Obituary
Funeral services wre held at the grave at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 1950, for Mrs. Rosa Spradlin, 65, wife of Smith Spradlin, Denver, who died at 6:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 1950 at her home, after an illness of four years. She was born on January 7, 1885, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Selvage, Johnson County, In 1931, she was married to Smith Spradlin in Paintsville. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Kay Spradlin, Denver, Ky. Also surviving are two sisters, mrs. malta Ratliff, Denver, Ky. Mrs. Mary Jane Spradlin, Barnetts Creek, Kyl, and six brothers, H. B. , Alford, Add and Clate Selvage, all of Denver, Ky., Jesse Selvage Moon, Ky., and Cal Selvage, Van Lear, Ky., The Services were led by Revs. millard O'Bryan, Freman Blair, Hammie May and Monroe Caudill. Burial was in the Sparadlin Cemetery under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday June 22, 1950.
