Obituary
Furman Richard Blair, 73, resident of Barnetts Creek, died in a local hospital at 2 p.m. Monday, August 6 after an illness of several months. The son of William an dMollie Van Hoose Blair, he was born December 19, 1888, and had been a lifelong resident of Barnetts Creek. He was a farmer and a minister of the United Baptist church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Shirley Lambert Blair; a son, Turrell Blair, Barnetts Creek; two daughters, Mary M. Caudill, Mt. Sterling, OH; Valeria Tackett, Columbus, OH; two sisters, Artellia Blair, Barnetts creek; Hester Spradlin, Springfield, OH; six brothers, Verner Blair, Leander, Crate Blair, Sciotoville, OH, D. B. Blair, Oil Springs, Coonie Blair, Barnetts Creek; Dexter Blair, Leander, Eschel Balir, Washington C.H., OH Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Baptist Church at Oil Springs with Prater Blair, Francis Blair and F. F. Rigsby as officiating ministers. Burial will be in the family cemetery. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, August 8, 1962
