Obituary
Southside resident Lucy Blair, 72, died Wednesday, August 21 at her home after an illness of several weeks. Born in Johnson County on September 5, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Wince and Louise Caudill Baldwin and a member of the United Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 24 in the Beechwall United Baptist Church at Denver with Elders Prater Blair, Arthur Preece and Hammie May officiating. Interment followed in the family cemetery at Denver under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Liss Blair, in 1954. Survivors include four sons, Berlin of Berea, OH, Dennis of Barnetts Creek, Kennith of Columbus, OH, and James H. of Paintsville; three daughters, Ivy Joy Blair of Barnetts Creek, Arlene Ward of Paintsville and Fanny May of Berea, OH; 37 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Additional survivors include five brothers and sisters, Harvey Baldwin, Curtis Baldwin, Marion Baldwin and May Baldwin of Oil Springs, and Alma Spradlin of Denver.
