Obituary
Verner Blair, 79, died at 5:30 a.m., June 21, at his home following a two week illness. Born May 28, 1886, he was the son of William and Margarett Vanhoose Blair of Barnetts Creek. He had been a resident of Leander 55 years. Mr. Blair was affiliated with the United Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Amba Rice Blair; one son, Virgil Blair, Leander; two daughters Mrs. Sylvia Williams, Tipp City, Ohio, and Mrs. Jewell Weddington, New Carlisle, Ohio. Other survivors include five brothers, Crate Blair, Sciotoville, Ohio; Dee Blair, Oil Springs; Dexter Blair, Leander, Coonie, Barnetts Creek; Estill Washington Court House, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Hester Picklesimer, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services were held today at 10:30 a.m., at the home with the Revs. Sandy Phillips and Clifford Trimble officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery.
