Sarah Blair passed away at a local hospital Saturday, June 7 at the age of 83. She was born July 19, 1891 in Johnson County, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Blair. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Blair. Surviving are 2 sons: Arlie Blair and Raleigh Blair both of Louisville; 5 daughters, Tryphena Brown of Louisville; Mary Elizabeth Daniel of New Albany, Ind., Glada Daniel of New Middletown, Ind., Vertrece Graham of Monroe, OH.,, Ada Reed of Middletown, OH; a brother, Crate Blair of Denver; 24 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 9 at the Beechwall United Baptist Church. Lonza Reed, Basil Blair, and Francis Blair were the officiating ministers. Burial was in Blair Cemetery at Denver under the arrangement and direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, June 11, 1975
