Obituary
Mrs. Artelia Blair, 84, died May 29, at the River View Rest Home, Ashland, following an extensive illness. Born July 19, 1880, she was the daughter of William and Molly VanHoose Blair, and had been a resident of Barnetts Creek all her life. She was affiliated with the United Baptist Church. Mrs. Blair was preceded in death by her husband, Alamander Blair, who died November 4, 1964. Survivors include three sons Prater Blair, Huntington, W. VA., Gay Blair, Oil Springs: two daughters Mrs. Conroy Trimble, Barnetts Creek, Mrs. Son Horn, Staffordsville. Other survivors are 23 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren: six brothers, Verner Blair, Leander, Crate Blair, Sciotoville, Ohio, Dee Blair, Oil Springs, Connie Blair, Barnetts Creek, Dexter Blair, Leander, Eshel Blair, Washington Court House, one sister, Mrs. Hester Picklesimer, Springfield, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted May 31, in the Caudill Fork United Baptist Church at Oil Springs, with the Revs. Sandy Phillips and Millard O'Bryan officiating. Burial was in the Sam Blair Cemetery.
