Obituary
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Chapel for Carl Francis Blair, 89, of Staffordsville, Ky., who passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Blair was born June 11, 1915 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Leonard and Bertha Brown Blair. He was a retired coal miner. Surviving are his wive, Louise Horne Blair of Staffordsville, Ky.; nine sons, Francis, Eldon and John Blair, all of Barnetts Creek, Ky., Gerald Blair of Wakeman, Ohio, Phillip and Robie Ray Blair, both of Denver, Ky., Carl “Junior” Blair of Leander, Ky., Neal Blair of Nippa, Ky., and Ricky Blair of Fayetteville, N.C.; five daughters, Fern May of Denver, Ky., Jean Dawson of Hager Hill, Ky., Kathy Meade of Flat Gap, Ky., Cheryl Johnson of Barnetts Creek, Ky., and Polly Adams of West Van Lear, Ky.; 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. The service will be officiated by Donald Ray Caudill and Lindsey Meade, with burial in the Blair Family Cemetery at Barnetts Creek, Ky. Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.
