Obituary
Mrs. Iva Joy Blair,66, died February 17 in Highlands Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Blair was born January 3, 1920 in Johnson County, the daughter of Liss and Lucy Baldwin Blair. She was a resident of Barnetts Creek and a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Turrell Blair; 5 sons, Lowell, Rutherford, Charles and Ottis Blair of Oil Springs, and Joe M. Blair of Barnetts Creek; 3 daughters, Garnet Lou Jackson and Phyllis Blair of Barnetts Creek and Sharon Colvin of Denver; 3 brothers, Burlin and James Harrison Blair of Denver, and Dennis Blair of Van Lear; 2 sisters, Mrs. Arlene Castle and Mrs. Fannie May of Paintsville; 21 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 20 in Little Paint United Baptist church at Oil Springs, with Elders Lonza Reed, James Denny Spradlin and Eugene May officiating. Burial was in Blair Cemetery at Barnetts Creek with Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, February 26, 1986
